Local Attractions.
     There are many attractions in the area surrounding Cil-Coed Uchaf. Listed on this page you will find just a few of them, all of which are within a thirty-minute drive from the cottages.

The Electric Mountain in Llanberis; a tour to the inside of the mountain.

The newly-opened Fun Centre in a magnificent old church in Caernarfon, ideal for the youngsters should we have a rainy day!

A newly-completed narrow gauge Steam Railway, which runs along the old track from near Caernarfon castle to Waeunfawr in the Snowdonia mountain range. This is a wonderful journey which will take you through approximately five miles of stunningly beautiful countryside.

Plas Menai on the Menai Straits, where there are all kinds of water sports facilities.

Travel from Holyhead to Dublin in only 90 minutes by fast ferry - a great day out!

Visit the Sea Zoo over on Anglesey, or the Hen Blas with all of its farm activities. With all types of animals, plus tractor rides, children love this one.

The Slate Caverns at Blaenau Ffestiniog, the Snowdon Mountain Railway, and the magnificent Caernarfon Castle.

Caernarfon Airport, where you can enjoy a plane ride around the summit of Snowdon or above the Castle.

Visit the Italian Village of Portmeirion, made famous by the TV Series "The Prisoner" or explore the excellent covered beaches on the Llyn Peninsula and the Black Rock Sands at Portmadog.

There are beautiful lakes and reefers for fishing, and golfing at Nefyn, Harlach, Pwllheli, and Caernarfon. Horse riding facilities are nearby, and of course there are ideal walking areas all around.
